Night of the Comet (1984)
When a rare comet fly’s by the earth, the people of the world are turned into red dust leaving a small group of survivors, mainly teenage girls with big hair. The problem with the survivors is that some of them have been turned into zombies, a problematic issue for those who inherit the earth and all it’s shopping malls as their personal playground.
It’s about what one could expect from a cheesy 80s horror movie. It’s like a high school girl version of I am Legend or Omega Man. The movie clearly doesn’t take itself too seriously and is actually amusing in some spots, but overall could probably be compressed into 20 minutes of solid film.
