Zombi 2, aka Zombie, aka Zombie Flesh Eaters (1979)
This is one of the first Italian Zombie movies by Lucio Fulci and it kind of kick started the whole weird Italian horror genre.
Also, there’s some notable scenes such as the Zombie vs. Shark and the infamous eye gouging scene. Not to mention that the Fulci style zombies are quite gory compared to earlier Romero zombies. Fulci’s heavy use of live worms in the eye sockets of his living dead seem to be one his signature effects.
Overall, the movie is pretty visual and not that scary in a suspenseful kind of way, it’s more in a creepy gross way. It’s solid stuff and definitely worth seeing if you’re a hardcore zombiephile.
